File system (ntfs e fat32)

Problema: un portatile ha il cd di ripristino fornito dal produttore (immagine win xp home + driver).
Ora, io lo devo ripartizionare e rimettere il tutto attraverso il cd in questione. Senonché vorrei formattare le partizioni in ntfs e non con la fat 32, da cd di ripristino però non mi pare si possa fare, il cd di win xp non c'è (perché è tutto sul ripristino) e se formatto col vecchio cd di win 98 mi mette la fat 32...
Qualcuno sa come uscirne?
(p.s. ho provato a fare il ripristino su una partizione non ancora formattata ma mi ha messo la fat 32, in compenso da dentro win ho formattato le altre partizioni dell'unità estesa in ntfs, che fare per la primaria?)

puoi usare partition magic (dalla versione 7 supporta xp, prima no, mi pare). col cd di ripristino formatti in fat32 e poi da partition magic converti il file system in ntfs. dovrebbe funzionare.
ovviamente, come tutte le operazioni che conivolgono in modo così "basso" l'hd, è sempre buona regola fare un backup dei propri dati onde evitare problemi!

puoi convertire anche sneza avere partition magic...cosi'

To change from FAT 32 to NTFS for more stability and security, open the command prompt and type: "Convert C: /FS:NTFS". Make sure there is a space between the C: and the foward slash (/). Once you press enter it will ask you for confirmation and press Y. Then press Y and enter once more to reboot. It will take between one hour and 15 minutes to convert to NTFS. Now you can set passwords for files and use encryption. This also works for windows XP Home.
