Trovare uno scanner supportato da Linux vuol dire che il sistema riconosce automaticamente lo scanner o bisogna istallarlo?

Se lo scanner è supportato bisogna installare sane (sono vari pacchetti a seconda della distro) poi, a scanner collegato, dare il comando
scanimage --list-device Se l'output non è un messaggio d'errore ma indica il tipo di scanner questo è stato riconosciuto, si può quindi utilizzare un'applicazione frontend, come xscanimage, kooka o gimp, per scannerizzare.

Nei primi due cd di RH9 trovi i seguenti pacchetti:
1: sane-backends-1.0.9-5.i386.rpm 1: sane-frontends-1.0.9-2.i386.rpm 2: libsane-hpoj-0.90-14.i386.rpm 2: sane-backends-devel-1.0.9-5.i386.rpm 2: xsane-0.89-3.i386.rpm 2: xsane-gimp-0.89-3.i386.rpm Prova ad installare sane-backends, sane-frontends, xsane e xsane-gimp controllando le dipendenze.
