Ti segnalo anche FreeZip, è un'utility senza interfaccia grafica che lavora da menu contestuale ed, eventualmente, da prompt del DOS (è utile anche per file batch). Lo trovi qui (http://members.ozemail.com.au/~nulifetv/freezip/) .

l'ultima versione non l'ho provata...ma su xp la penultima versione nel formato 7 zip funzionava male o meglio zippava come winzip con compression ratio bassa.., mentre su nt le prestazioni sono ottime

Su WinTricks oggi è comparso anche questo (http://www.wintricks.it/news2/article.php?ID=3746). Freeware e in italiano, sembra interessante anche se la grafica non è delle più stravaganti.

ok! ho aperto la discussione, ho provato alcuni link datemi da voi (ottimo il webattack) ho tirato le somme e preso la versione di power archiver 6 (la 2001) che è fri, ma ho ancora un problema! perche mi da errore CRC se provo ad estrarre file compressi con winzip e/o winrar? quello che vorrei sapere io è: cosa sto sbagliando? perchè sto errore?
ho bisogno di un SW free di compressione da installare in delle aule di una scuola.

Crc è quando l'archivio è danneggiato.Ci sono alcuni sw che permettono di recuperare almeno qualcosa di questi archivi ma che io sappia non sono free.

x un periodo l´ho usato anche io...poi l´ho abbandonato...
ogni tanto mi dava strani errori,allora sono passato a winzip in versione trial...
ora uso IZARC e va benissimo...anche io lo uso sul lavoro e mi serviva un prg free...e anche in italiano...
