Emergenza !!!

Ciao a tutti,
questa mattina stavo lavorando con partitio magic 7.0 per creare una nuova partizione sul mio HD dove tenevo TUTTI i miei dati IMPORTANTI [album fotografici - lavoro - video - ecc] per una ragione che devo ancora comprendere il PC si è spento e al riavvio compariva la seguente situazione [vedi file allegato]

POSSO FARE ANCORA QUALCOSA O MI DEVO SUICIDARE

Beh...questo é quanto suggerito da Powerquest.
Anche loro ci mettono il condizionale, però credo che dovrebbe andare tutto bene, a patto di selezionare il tipo di partizione originale:

Cause: If an operation has been interrupted or a power outage occurs during the execution of a PartitionMagic process, the partition type may appear as a PQRP (PowerQuest Recoverable Partition). PQRPs occur when the partition type indicator could not be returned to its original value. In most cases the data is recoverable by returning the partition type indicator to its original value. However in some cases, depending on when the operation was interrupted, the data is corrupt and cannot be recovered gracefully.

(il chè, IMHO, significa che tutto dipende da cosa stavi facendo con PM)

Solution: To fix a PQRP with PTEDIT:


1. Run PTEDIT.


2. _Locate the PQRP (partition type 3C).

____If the PQRP occurred on a logical partition, click "GoToEPBR" to locate the correct partition.


3. _Click in the "Type" field associated with the 3C partition.


4. _Click "Set Type."

____A list of available partition types is displayed.


5. Select the appropriate partition type (e.g., FAT32 if the partition type was FAT32 before the PQRP, etc.).


6. _Save the changes and exit.


If the system does not boot properly at this point, run a directory listing (DIR) on the drive and make sure there are no "DYN_ROOT" entries. A "DYN_ROOT" indicates that the original root directory has been relocated but can, in most cases, be restored. If the directory listing appears as random ASCII code or unrecognizable characters, the partition is likely corrupt and cannot be recovered.

Note: If the root directory appears as a DYN_ROOT, do not SYS the drive. Modifications made to the drive while in this state can reduce the probability of recovery. Contact PowerQuest Technical Support for further assistance.

poscritto: io quelle operazioni le farei da dos, coi floppy di avvio di PM e possibilmente con quelli della versione 8...tanto per stare sul sicuro...;)

Devo dire che ho perso esattamente 5 anni di vita al solo pensiero di perdere i dati del mio HD di BACKUP principale.
Come al solito questo forum ha fatto la differenza.
