rete lenta con w98 e w2k (aiuto !!!)

ho un desktop con win2k e scheda 10/100 in rete con un portatile con Win98SE e scheda integrata.
Dopo un po' di patemi ...sono riuscito a far parlare i due, il problema sta nel fatto che il massimo che riesco ad ottenere è un transfer rate di 8k/sec !!?
...neanche se i file li trascrivessi a mano ci metterei tanto...
Inutile dire che ho già aggiornato tutti i driver del mondo.

PS. : prima sul desktop avevo (W) Win98SE e andava come una scheggia (quando non si piantava naturalmente !!)

Prova ad andare nelle proprietà della scheda e selezionare 10MBIT HALF DUPLEX invece di AUTOSENSE o 100MB FULL DUPLEX

grazie, prova fatta ma non cambia nulla, in compenso ho scoperto una cosa che prima non avevo notato.
Il collo di bottiglia è unidirezionale !!
Mi spiego meglio .
è un chiodo da Desktop 192.168.0.2 su cui c'è win2k al portetile ...(al max 12k),
ma va da dio al contrario ciòè da portatile 192.168.0.1 con win98 al desktop con download a 800k !!

...la soluzione ?.....ho tolto w98se dal portatile è fatto l'aggiornamento a w2k !!

Porco Mondaccio! pure io ho lo stesso problema e sto disperatamente cercando una soluzione senza togliere per win98... non possono vincere sempre loro!!!! :)

be allora per favore ditemi come avete fatto a cllegare fra loro win 2k e 98 che da qualche giorno non riesco piu a farli vedere
non ci sono versi che riescano ad accedere uno all altro

spiegate un po come far funzionare win2k e win98
che inspiegabilmente dopo 2 anni di funzionamento perfetto non hanno piu intenzione di collegarsi(nei giochi pero la rete funziona)

Io non ho windows 2000 ma xp... posso dirti che io ho usato una condivizione senza password di accesso.. quindi è totale è libera.. poi ci sono altre impostazioni.. dimmi le tue e ti dico...

Per i problemi di lentezza tra win98 e w2k ho trovato in www.ntfaq.com questa risposta:

Q. Why is viewing Windows Me or Windows 98 shares from a Windows 2000 machine so slow?

A. When Win2K attempts to browse shares on a Windows Me or Win9x machine, it also checks for scheduled tasks that are enabled on the machine. Disabling this check speeds the browsing. Perform the following steps:

Start regedit.exe.
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Explorer\RemoteComputer\NameSpace.
Right-click {D6277990-4C6A-11CF-8D87-00AA0060F5BF}, and select Delete.
Click Yes to the confirmation.
Close regedit.


E per quanto riguarda la condivisione delle risorse (che fino all'altra sera mi funzionava correttamente e da ieri è andata in sciopero...) ho trovato quest'altra strada, che però non ho ancora provato (...sono al lavoro). Sempre su www.ntfaq.com
