AAARRRGGGHHHH !!!

Mi sono scaricato i driver detonator3 per fare l'update da Nvidia Riva 128ZX e quando ho fatto partire l'installazione mi ha detto che non ha rilevato chips Nvidia montati sulla mia macchina !!! Come è possibile ciò ?

I Detonator 3 non supportano + il chip 128ZX, supportano solo dal TNT in poi.

E allora cosa devo fare ? Non ho la possibilità di aggiornare i driver di questi chip ? Devo montare il chip TNT ?

e tra tutti i driver quelli Riva non ci sono proprio. Cercando un po' in rete si trovano driver più vecchi addirittura della data di acquisto del mio computer !!!

Hai ragione... rimanda al sito nVidia, dove non ci sono +.

Che versione è la tua scheda video: AGP o PCI?

Che driver stai usando attualmente?

Ehmmm.... come faccio a capire se è AGP o PCI ???

I miei driver sono datati 24 agosto 99 e sono tre:
NV3DISP.DRV
NV3.VXD
vmm32.vxd

Nelle Proprietà avanzate della scheda video dovresti trovare tutte le informazioni, x raggiungerle:
click destro sul desktop -> Proprietà -> Impostazioni -> Avanzate... dai un'occhiata alle varie schermate, dovresti trovare il nome del modello della scheda video e altre informazioni.

Se non si capisce se è AGP o PCI, puoi usare questo programmino:

Cmq può anche essere che non ci siano dei driver + aggiornati...

PCIList only queries the system configuration registers. In the event of problems, other things to check to ensure AGP support is enabled and working properly include the following:

- make sure the correct and latest GART manager (AGP driver) for your system board is installed, as well as the latest drivers for your graphics card and DirectX version

- in your system BIOS Setup program, the AGP aperture should be enabled and set to at least 64MB; an IRQ should be assigned to the VGA card; any option referring to spread spectrum should be disabled; and video BIOS and RAM shadowing should be disabled

- if the system has been overclocked to reach 501 MHz, the AGP clock may now be too high; system memory which otherwise works without errors may be unable to cope with the heavier demands of AGP traffic when running 3D applications

- some AGP features may actually be available in hardware, but be disabled in specific BIOS and/or driver releases, or even by user-configurable software switches (e.g., in the Windows registry)

PCIlist ti avvisa solo che essendo l'IRQ della scheda video condiviso, potrebbero esserci dei problemi (se tutto funzia regolarmante non c'è motivo di preoccuparsi).

I driver + aggiornati che ho trovato sono questi (http://www.epicpc.co.uk/tech/C/vga/car/riva/w9x-341.zip
), la versione è 4.11.01.0341.

Prova a confrontare la versione con quelli che hai attualmente, basta andare col tasto destro del mouse sul file NV3.VXD -> Proprietà -> Versione.
