Quando dovete scambiare file di grosse dimensioni con altri utenti, e non volete spedirgli tutto il file nuovo, potete creare una patch contenente le differenze tra il vecchio e il nuovo file modificato, e dare solo la patch all'altro utente che poi la integrerà nel suo file.
Molto utile con file di grosse dimensioni, meno su piccoli file.
(non è molto chiaro su quali file può agire, per adesso ho provato doc e xls, immagini e archivi compressi)
